Requiem Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

88 Points, WE. Requiem is a blend of grapes from six sites across the Columbia Valley. Each component is vinified separately and then undergoes a series of blending trials, looking for purity of fruit, complexity and outstanding quality that consistantly overperforms.

Paetra Pinot Blanc 2019

Our 2019 Pinot Blanc was hand harvested from old-vines grown at 750 ft above sea-level. It was fermented in 100% neutral oak barrels. The resulting wine is very pure and mineral with hints of pear, exotic fruit and bright acidity.

Ricosoli Toscana 2016

Ruby red color with delicate aromas of red berries and small red fruits followed by a soft mouthfeel with nice acidity giving way to a well-balanced and pleasant finish.

J Mourat Collection Blanc 2018

Light gold in color, the Blanc Collection displays aromas of green orchard fruits, lanolin and white flowers. This medium-bodied wine has a sharp, broad acidity that delivers incredible freshness and helps to deliver a long, concentrated finish.

Tombacco Biferno Rosso Riserva 2014

90 Points, DWW. The brilliance of the garnet reflections on an intense ruby red, the Biferno is a wine with a full and aromatic taste. Olfactory nuances ranging from ethereal vanilla to sharp notes of spices and cinnamon. In the mouth it is rich, velvety and harmonious, perfect with meat dishes.

Domaine De Pallus Messanges Rose 2019

100% Cabernet Franc. Salmon pink; Full palate with fresh strawberry and citrus notes. Direct press, 3 months in stainless steel. Winemaker Bertrand's "Messanges" line is his younger, fresher expression of his vineyards.

Santa Julia Malbec Reserva 2018

91 Points, JS. Dark violet with blue hues. Nose of ripe red and black fruits such as cherries, plums, and blackberries. Notes of vanilla, chocolate, and snuff. Medium-bodied flavor, with soft tannins and balanced acidity with a fruity and spicy finish.

Ameal Loureiro 2019

With ripe citrus skin, lemon blossom, and green grass on the nose, this wine is like standing in a lemon grove on a warm afternoon. The palate is fresh and crisp, but there’s a mineral density present that gives serious structure to this otherwise fun-loving wine.

Chateau L'orangerie Bordeaux Rogue 2018

Moderately dense garnet with purple. Very appealing, clean and youthful aroma of healthy, mature dark cherry and damson plum with faint spice notes. The wine is round, supple and medium bodied and imparts a soft final impression with the barest touch of tannin.

Scarpetta Pinot Grigio 2018

This wine showcases some of the best sites in Friuli-Venezia Giulia for this aromatic varietal. Light straw color with just a hint of salmon. Aromas of both stone fruits and melon. Melon and stone fruits with minerals and medium body. Pinot Grigio has such a great range.

Notes & Flavors

Ravera is situated at the confluence of two different geological matrices. Over millions of years the layers were superimposed, creating a rather fragile soil subject to erosion, but with an enormous potential. Predominance of Sant’Agata fossil marl, interspersed with sand deposits rich in iron. Average elevation: 360 m a.s.l.

Picking starts around October 9th. Thanks to an ideal balance of ripening, maceration lasts 45 days, 5 days with a submerged cap. The malolactic fermentation occurs in steel in spring following the harvest.

Aged for 30 months in Slavonian oak casks of 30hL before bottling.

96 Points, James Suckling

"The boldest of the G.D. Vajra crus. The nose has very intense, rich and ripe darker cherries with a savory, sanguine edge. The palate has layer upon layer of rich dark berries and concentrated, quite rich tannins that carry plenty of brambly dark-cherry flavor. So keenly defined, too. Impressive weight."

96 Points, Vinous

"The 2016 Barolo Ravera is tough as nails today, but it has striking inner sweetness and remarkable persistence. Even so, readers will have to exercise a great deal of patience, as the 2016 is not likely to offer much in the way of pleasure for a number of years. Bright red cherry, mint, white pepper, blood orange and dried flowers give the 2016 brilliant top notes to match its finely sculpted feel. Veins of acidy and tannin add razor-sharp precision throughout. I can't wait to taste this in another few years' time."

96 Points, Wine Enthusiast

"Focused and vibrant, this chiseled red has enticing scents of small red berry, rose, menthol and culinary spice. On the taut, youthfully austere palate, a backbone of firm, fine-grained tannins supports juicy red cherry, strawberry and licorice while fresh acidity keeps it balanced. Give it time to unwind and come together."

95 Points, Wine Advocate

"The 2016 Barolo Ravera is the most angular, powerful and vertical of the various Baroli presented by G.D. Vajra. The optimal growing conditions of this classic vintage contribute to the wine's vertical lift and pronounced depth. The Ravera cru (that spans the comuni of Novello and Barolo) is characterized by Toronian-era marl with clay and sandstone at 320 to 340 meters above sea level. That's the ideal spot for wines that show both power and elegance. The tannins are sweeter on this wine, but the fiber is tight and firm. Red and purple fruits with licorice, tar and white truffle are folded neatly within."
