Three Saints Chardonnay 2008
Region: California
Big Staff Favorite! It is no secret that we are not fans of the fat and creamy style of California Chardonnay. Well, the times are changing and the styles are becoming more restrained, fresher, and more balanced. The Three Saints is impressive with layers of smoke, minerals, citrus and melons, just a hint of oak, and fresh acidity.

Penfolds Kalimna Bin 28 Shiraz 2008
Region: South Australia
"Glass-staining purple. Assertive aromas of black raspberry, licorice and smoke. Densely packed but lively, thanks to bright acidity and peppery spices. Shows very good density and an array of red and dark berry flavors. Finishes with supple tannins and very good persistence, with the dark berry note echoing. There's an awful lot of fruit here, which makes this wine approachable now, but it's built to age." 90 Points, Steve Tanzer

Spottswoode Cabernet 2008
Region: Napa Valley, California
"The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits a glorious perfume of spring flowers, blueberries and black currants, good acidity and serious tannins as well as concentration. It is slightly more restrained and backward than the seamless, compelling 2007, but the 2008 possesses lots of stuffing as well as elegance married with purity, power and rare equilibrium. Drink it over the next 2-3 decade."

Brovia Sori' del Drago Barbera 2009
Region: Peidmonte, Italy
This was a huge hit with the staff when we tasted it. It has plenty of lush fruit on the palate with tons of classic Brovia intensity. It certainly showcases the 2009 vintage. Killer juice.
